In the late 1960s and early 1970s promoter Michael Schivo converted the defunct bowling alley to a concert venue.
A few years later the building was called Dusty's Playland and the face of the entrance was painted with a two tone mural of a woman with long flowing hair that continued around the corner of the building.
I'm not sure if Mr. Schivo had the front of the building painted with the mural in the first place or if it appeared later, but the mural was still there until the late 1970s or early 1980s.
I've looked all over the internet and contacted numerous media outlets trying to find a photo of the mural. Unless you were a professional photographer or were in the photography club in school, the Instamatic wouldn't do the mural justice. Mom's and Dad's cars were insured, but parents don't generally let teenage children mess with the Nikon.
If anyone remembers the mural and knows anything more about it, I hope they will share the information. And most of all, if anyone has a photograph of the mural I wish they would post it on this website.
