The Convention Center Marquee hawking the wonderful Jaycee Clark County Fair (October was a wonderful month for it as the weather wasn't sizzling). The Grateful Dead are coming soon.
The Desert Inn Marquee circa 1960 featuring Phil "The South Shall Rise Again" Harris and the Crosby Brothers (Bing's sons). (Thanks to those who wrote and caught my original faux-paus)

I remember venturing into Little Caesars in 1987. I was on vacation with a friend of mine and it was the last day of our trip. My friend lost the last of his money across the street at the Dunes. I lent him some money and we decided we needed some low roller fun to kill the last few hours of our trip so we stepped in to Little Caesars.
This place was small and dumpy. The free drinks came in Styrofoam cups and the cocktail waitresses looked old enough to give the impression that they started their careers at the Last Supper.
There was no carpeting on the floor, just the kind of tile you find at a department store and it was sticky. They had a hand full of table games. $1 blackjack and $1 craps mostly.
I was playing craps and at the same table there was a guy betting with $100 chips. It was insane. Why this guy was playing at LC's was beyond me. The crazy thing is that I may have cost Little Caesars money that night! I rolled so many hard 10s it was almost unreal. The high roller kept betting the Hard 10 (as did I, but for only $5). I made that guy a small fortune that night.
