Wayne Newton Cancels Holiday Shows

It's official.  Wayne Newton has canceled his Holiday Show at Harrah's.  There is concern that Newton may be suffering from heart related issues.  Earlier this fall, according to Norm Clark's column, Newton had a medical scare involving his heart while training for "Dancing With the Stars".

After being voted off, he returned the following week to sing "Danke Schoen", the song that made him famous.

Since that time, Newton has been flying under the radar.  He was noticeably absent from Robert Goulet's funeral last Friday.  He was best man at Goulet's wedding to his second wife, Vera, twenty five years ago so this absence caught people's attention.

Newton has been tirelessly touring for the USO since taking over that position from Bob Hope in 2001.

We hope the Midnight Idol is on the mend and wish him well.
