Atomic Age Alliance Fund-Raiser Thursday Evening
From our pal and fellow preservationist, Mary Margaret Stratton:
This is just a reminder that tomorrow is our DWR fundraiser. If you are
unable to attend the event, your donations to our advocacy fund are very
much appreciated. The suggested donation $100 per person or $150 per
couple
No one will be turned away due to financial hardship, so please come if
you are interested and donate what you can. If you can make it, please
bring a checkbook, as we will be unable to process credit card donations
on site. Credit card donations may be made through PayPal. The "send to"
address is paypal@atomicage.org
Thank you to everyone who is helping to make this event possible,
including, but not limited to Craig Lavalley Design Within Reach, the
Thurston Howlies, and Hint Flavored Waters.
Sincerely,
Mary-Margaret Stratton

The Stardust Hotel: The Very Beginning
We are pleased to announce that we have begun our not-so-brief history of the Stardust Hotel!
The intrique, the double dealing, the mob, the signage:
How it all came together!
It's all here on the building of the Stardust:

The Tropicana Hotel: Miami comes to the Las Vegas Strip

Do you remember the Tropicana before it was "come to the island"? When Jayne Mansfield performed in the showroom?
When the Folies Bergere was the hot ticket?
Well we have the history of the Tropicana in the 1950s here:
