Important Update on Saturday's Meeting about the Huntridge Theater
The unique opportunity we have to voice our community opinion on the significance of the Huntridge Theatre draws closer at hand.
Due to the volume of response to our Saturday's Meeting we have decided to change venues.
NEW LOCATION:

Michael Cornthwaite, the ever generous proprietor of the Downtown Cocktail Room, will be kindly opening his doors to us. For this we are very grateful!

Also, TONIGHT we will be gathering at LoPro, Downtown Cocktail Room's singular networking mixer to discuss agenda and topics for Saturday's meeting. Happy Birthday VeryVintageVegas!
We send Happy Birthday greetings to our pals at VERYVINTAGEVEGAS.COM.
It's hard to believe that they are celebrating their first birthday! Seems like only yesterday we met their ringleader,
Jack LeVine, for coffee at Starbucks.
Since then so much has happened. We applaud their efforts to keep the urban core of Downtown first and foremost on everyone's mind. We also applaud their tenacity in promoting the area as a very livable place away from the cookie-cutter suburbs that are engulfing our historic town.
We are pleased to have them as partners in preserving, honoring and keeping the flame of Classic Las Vegas alive and glowing.
If you are downtown on Thursday evening (before coming to our Untold Stories) stop in at the Downtown Cocktail Room and wish the VVV crew a very Happy Birthday! Buy a round for them for doing all they do in keeping Vintage and Classic Las Vegas from the wrecking ball!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GUYS!
MAY ALL YOUR WISHES COME TRUE!

The Dunes Hotel - The Miracle in the Desert -1950s
We know these are popular and we are working our way through the history of the Strip.
We are pleased to direct your attention to the beginning history of the Dunes Hotel:

Save the Huntridge Theater Meeting this Saturday
If you would like to be involved in helping us save the Huntridge, please come to our first meeting this Saturday evening. Here's the info from Josh Geidel, one of the organizers and Jack LeVine of VeryVintageVegas.com:
Hello all,
Well, I have been pleasantly surprised at all the momentum we have gathered thus far in our mounting-effort to Save the Huntridge!
It is a true testament to the solidarity and determination of Las Vegas’ residents to stand up for what they believe in
and mold a brighter future for all.
We are off to a great start… lets be sure we keep this momentum building!
I would like to invite us all to gather at my residence for a meeting of the minds.
At this meeting we will:
* Strategize plans for an organized preservation effort
* Group think positive alternatives for both short and long-term uses
* Pool resources, connections, perspectives and opinions
* Celebrate the significance that the Huntridge symbolizes to us all
* Meet other folks who share this common bond
** We will also be “passing the hat” to gather funds for signs, posters, etc
So, please bring a couple of bucks if you have them to contribute.
We will be meeting on:
Saturday, March 8th, at 5:00pm
1200 Franklin Ave
The house is at the intersection of Franklin and Maryland.
The one with the “Huntridge” mural on it.
Refreshments, Pizza and other treats will be served.
Additionally, I encourage everyone to bring something to share if they like… your favorite beverage or dish or what have you… this is welcomed but not “mandatory”.
So, if you and anyone you know are interested in helping to save this nationally landmarked property we hope you will join us on Saturday evening.
We look forward to seeing you there!
