I visited Las Vegas with my family back around 1974. We stayed at a smaller motel that was walking distance from the strip. I know because my two brothers and I got into big trouble with our parents for being gone for hours collecting matchbooks for my brother's collection. I remember an auction house across the street from the motel I think it was near the Circus Circus hotel. I drove around the other day and only found a shuttered Travel Lodge. Sound familiar anyone?
