Ask LasVegasLynn > Sage & Sand Motel

During the late 60's and early 70's we stayed at the Sage & Sand Motel several times which was located on the strip next to Cesars Palace.
Would you have any photos?

I have a picture of a post card of the Motel. It was owned by George McConkey who was my favorite keno player of all-time. He used to play several days a week at the Golden Gate Casino in the 70's. His wife would walk across the street and play Keno at the old Holiday Casino. He was a wonderful person and I still think about him all of the time. Write me at my email address and I will send you a copy of the postcard.

As A child, my brother and I could always count on a summer vacation to the sage and sands. My grandfather, John C. Nelson and his partners owed the Sage and Sand Motel and they sold it to Caesars in the early 80's. Would like to see your postcard.

Did Mr. Nelson buy it out after McConkey died in 1979

Send me your email and I will send you a scan of the postcard.

Sorry for the long delay in getting back to your post.
