I had not thought about this event until I was on a ski trip to Lake Tahoe in 2000, and I saw his picture in the lobby of a hotel in Carson City. It was part of a display of old Nevada history. It was strange to see a picture of a young Ed von Tobel at a time when I was looking towards becoming an old man.
