Word comes from Friends of Classic Las Vegas supporter Juergen Barbusca that the wonderful Swim-In- Pool Supply Company sign on Main Street is broken due to a possible electrical short.

The sign, a favorite of neon-lovers for the almost fifty years it has been a staple on Main Street, featured a wonderful animated sequence of a young girl sliding down into a pool.

We are hoping that the sign can be restored and re-lit and we will keep posted on any developing news!

There is good news from the owners of the Swim-In Pool sign.  The sign was badly, badly damaged.  When I drove by it the other night, only the end of the slide remained with just one animated cut-out girl.  The rest of the slide and the other two animated cut-outs were missing.

Today we hear that the owners have taken the sign down and are in the midst of getting repaired.  They consider it "their pride and joy" and hope to have it back up soon!

Stay tuned!
